  • How is it "obvious that she has some means of income other than child support"? Did some of us miss something? In fact, no mention at all was made of HOW or where she lives, who cares for the children whuen she is undergoing treatment, where they would go in case of emergency.

  • Your personal experience makes it even more likely that there was more that led to her loss of custody than her simply being sick, not less. Although, simple curiosity would lead one to wonder how you obtained custody of your 8yrs old grandson.

  • What court takes into account every "what if' and possible assumptions you just admittedly made as a determining factor in rendering judgment? If they did, maybe the judge just wondered, "What if she falls over dead tomorrow"? You (nor I) no NOTHING. Stop assuming and THINK.

  • Shar, I have three girls, ages 7, 4, & 2. I am happily married to their mother. But, as I have stated over and again, my personal experience does not matter. How I might "feel" is of no consequence. Legal proceedings should NOT be made on emotions.

  • TLucas- then there you have it. The fact is (and yes, we know you don't like it) without a means to support herself it would be irresponsible for the judge TO grant her primary custody. Or do you not understand that or think the judge should disregard that fact and simply hope "it all works out".
